Ciao! (Hello), I’m Marika! Many people know “Ciao” in Italian means both hello and goodbye, but did you know that the modern meaning of “Ciao” stems from an ancient word that had a very different meaning? You might learn the history of this word if you travel to Italy.
I was born and raised in the Italian Alps, not far from the border with France. I studied Travel and Tourism and after I graduated, I worked in different travel companies, hotels, and summer resorts. My last job in Italy, before I moved to the United States, was in the booking department of the largest Italian tour operator, where I worked for 10 years.
I continued working in the travel industry when I moved to the United States, first with a private travel company, and then with my own business for the past seven years. I have over 20 years of experience planning and organizing travel. I have personally traveled all over the world. Leading groups to Italy was another amazing experience for me. I loved showcasing my home country to visitors!
